Re: Saving BLOB while connected to IBM i in VLF-Forms

You need to check-in and recreate the table on the IBM i

From the tip:
After changing this to an acceptable value for your system, save the x_dbmenv.dat, and redo the check-in (ensure you select to recreate the file)
Maybe you did, just checking..

Re: Saving BLOB while connected to IBM i in VLF-Forms

I just remembered that issue we had long time ago.

Hope that solves it for you and that it's not something else.

Good luck - Pierre

Re: Publishing Web Services

Hello all, Can anyone share ideas or best practices on how to implement a Login WebService with LANSA ? What would be the best way for the client to provide secure user/password information. This is what I had in mind for the overall process. - Client invokes Login Web service (user/password protoco...

Re: Publishing Web Services

Ok thanks for sharing.

I also managed to publish on the IBM i with the technique you described and a bit of help from support.

I will dig deeper into this in the coming weeks and I will try to share my experiences also.

Re: Publishing Web Services

Joe,

Based on discussions in this thread, it looks like EPC142010 is needed to get this to work on the IBM i.

Would love to have an official statement regarding this.

Re: Publishing Web Services

Hello Joe, On this topic, did you get further and managed to publish your WebServices on the IBM i ? If so, did you get access to some documentation? When I run Pablo's example against our IBM i server, I get: "Method Not Allowed" - "Have you defined /xContacts in your Server Modules". If I try to a...

Re: Sending mail from IBM I

Hello, The first place I would look is the QZMF journal. See if there any hints to a "bounce back / return to sender" type message. To have email entries in the QZMF journal, you must have JOURNAL(*YES) on the CHGSMTPA command. The best way to display that journal is to dump it in a temporary table ...

Hello Mark

I don't know of any of our customers who are mandated to use IE.

Windows 7 PCs are still fairly common but most organisations still on 7 are planning or upgrading soon.

Re: File Level Triggers

Art,

The CHECK_FOR will call the OAM right ? I don't think you can perform an I/O operation in the trigger that will access the underlying OAM.

Re: File Level Triggers

A possible solution would be to define a file level trigger fired only on the « Before Insert » and « Before Update » events and use a free format SELECT_SQL to perform the validation. This might not be so pretty but it works and it allows you to define RDMLX validation routine that reads back the f...

Re: Blob limits

Art, You need edit file "lansa_xxxpgmlib\x_lansa\x_dbmenv.dat" file. Look for this: * ==================================================== * DB2 - iSeries platform (For runtime NOT Development) * ==================================================== and then for this line: TYPE_LONGVARBINARY_DEFAULT_...

VLF-Wam 13.2 Anchors is a list sometimes replaced by text

Hello, This is another VLF-WAM LANSA 13.2 question. We would like to use anchors in a list but not on all lines. When the anchor is not needed, we would like to replace it with text coming from a field in the list. The Hide_If property replaces the anchor with blanks and we cannot put our text as a ...

VLF-Wam 13.2 Different drop downs in a list

Hello,

This is a VLF-WAM LANSA 13.2 question.

We are looking for an example of a different dropdown in each row of a list.

For example:
ListWithDiffDropDowns.png
ListWithDiffDropDowns.png (4.7 KiB) Viewed 1569 times
Notice that the dropdown is different for each row where row 1 has 3 items, row 2 has 4 and row 3 has only 2.

Thanks - Pierre

Re: Users and Task Ids

Hello, In order for a user to be able to check-out an object for changes, the user or the group it belongs to, must have access in the LANSA security. When you create an object in the repository, the security is set as follows : The LANSA owner and the partition security officer gets full access. If...

Re: Thoughts on Task Tracking

One change request or new development gets a new task. We try to break down development into small units so an actual change request can be implemented by multiple tasks by multiple developers. We allow only one developer to work on a task (yes, you can authorize multiple developers on the same task...
