#XPRIM_JsonWriter & WriteBase64StringFromFile

Scenario: VL web application for communicating with business partner REST API application (http put). Our server is IBM i. New requirement from partner is to upload file in base64 in the http put request. I read in other posts that the WriteBase64StringFromFile is good up to 16Meg, due to limitation...

Re: ignore SSL certificate error / disable SSL certificate verification

In Postman there is a setting "ignore SSL certificate error" which lets me read the data from the HTTP response. Is there anything like this setting that could be replicated in VL web?

Re: ignore SSL certificate error / disable SSL certificate verification

Brendan, Yes using #PRIM_WEB.HttpRequest on the client side. Setting the Browser to ignore ssl cert errors, brings up other issues, and opens too many security issues. I am trying to find a means to use the non SSL connection (HTTP://mydevice/) like you mention, and I can send or reach out via this ...

ignore SSL certificate error / disable SSL certificate verification

In VL Web application, using #PRIM_WEB.HttpRequest, to make a GET request to a network attached device, is there any means to ignore SSL certificate error, or to disable the SSL certificate verification in request? I have found some other examples for other platforms, and am thinking there might be ...

Re: VL Web multiple document download

I had made a copy of the xAttachment dialog to use in one of my VL web applications and noticed the same. Looking into it, and I could be wrong, but I didn't see where the sample dialog had logic to build a collection of the selected items. The multiple selection wasn't a need for us, so I just edit...

Re: GUID as number

Interesting. I will need to research this further. I used the same #Result definition you had (reffld: XLib_INT64), double checked my repository to verify that XLib_INT64 was defined as 8 byte Integer. Yet in my tests, it calcs fine all the way through the iterations to the 15th power, but on the 16...

Re: GUID as number

Brendan, Thanks for this bit. I copied the code into a RUP, compiles fine, but crashes when runs. Doing some debug work, the crash occurs in the BEGIN_LOOP statement during the #Result calc. If it makes a difference, my RUP is server side based (running on IBM i server). #Result += #Com_self.GetHexC...

Re: PRIM_JSON.Writer reuse

Sotiris, Yes, the XPRIM_JSON.Writer object can be reused within a list. Are you wanting the output Json to be just simple json string, or are you wanting the output to be an array? Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but here is a simple sample I tested to work. Writer defined in the S/M: ...

GUID as number

I am looking for a purely numeric unique ID. Reviewing the stored *GUID value, I see it as alphanumeric (32 length), as hex? Within VL is there a "hex to decimal" BIF or Intrinsic, of some other means to convert this hex string to a numeric value? I could not find much info on the *GUIDSEQUENTIAL sy...

Re: VL web, PRIM_MD.List - row height

In each "Row", there are up to 5 data fields that may contain data. If a row only has 2 of the data fields populated, then I would like this row to be smaller in height, but if the row has data in all five of the data fields then this row would be larger in height. The result being a list with poten...

VL web, PRIM_MD.List - row height

In VL Web, using PRIM_MD.List, is there a way to set the row height to be "content" sensitive?

Reading the docs, it seems that the only choice is a set row height by pixels, or *blank = proportional.

Or, is there a way to set each row with it's own dynamically assigned row height?

PRIM_PDF preview without saving first

Working specifically in VL for the Web, we have historically used components based upon the demo DF_T69H10, etc. (print interface, print widget, print resource, print page). It had been recommended to look at the newer client side PRIM_PDF. The biggest drawback I find with PRIM_PDF is that it does n...

Re: asLocalizedDateTime calculation differences

The offset on the IBM is the difference, but it has to do with the daylight savings adjustment. Our IBM is set for Time Zone QN0600CST2 Central Standard Time with offset of -06:00. But currently we are in daylight savings time / mode, so the offset value is adjusted to -05:00 during CDT. The time va...

asLocalizedDateTime calculation differences

I am having an issue with the "asLocalizedDateTime" intrinsic, and was wondering if it is something I am doing incorrectly, or if others have seen this and how to resolve. Environment is IBM i Server, VL Web applications V15, epc 150050. Both the IBM i Server, and my client PC, reflect the same curr...

I am working with a field defined as *DATETIME (24) in a VL web application. I want to take another *datetime field value, or #DATETIMEX.Now value, and add 'x' number of minutes or seconds to get the new DateTime value. Is there an intrinsic for this? I currently have this working, but looking for s...

Re: Creating report in lansa 14.2

Hi Dino, Simple answer is that I had originally started this work back when we were on 14.2, and did not realize there was an new Prim_PDF feature. I don't see this listed in the Lansa IDE Samples, but looking at the support docs, it seems pretty straight forward. One item I don't see, is that in th...
