Re: EPC 150060 - anyone applied it yet?

Eugene,
I just tried to download 150060 from the US support portal, but the link ends in error:
"The link you are trying to access does not exist"
We are running on IBM i, so should I still hold off on epc150060?

Update of the FA and MD icons and components

An update to the newer F/A and Material Design icons and components would be appreciated for the VL Web applications.

Re: Icons

The new MD icons and components (such as the M3 Date Picker) would be a great benefit for our VL web projects.

Re: Steps to make LANSA web server on I use SSL?

I looked in one of my httpd.conf files which has been active for quite some time (started with WAMS on V13, and now V15, with both WAMS and VL web running), so some of these lines may no longer apply, but you may want to review for current relevance. I haven't dug into this in a while, so someone wi...

Re: Steps to make LANSA web server on I use SSL?

Art, Here is a link to the IBM DCM faq, which is where I start when working with SSL certs: https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/6607872 Our VL lansa applications are running in the HTTP web server on the standard port 443, but I believe you can set up your virtual hosts in the httpd.conf config t...

Re: why HTTPTransportException in the IBM but not in Windows?

Klaus, I don't know if this will help, but I had a similar issue in the past (receiving the error: Failed to send outgoing data to the server, HTTPTransportException: Cannot initialize a channel to the remote end, and the GSKit error, trying to connect to a trade partner API server). I was battling ...

Re: #XPRIM_JsonWriter & WriteBase64StringFromFile

I suspect that there is not (nor will be) a .WriteBase64StringFromFile function with XPRIM_JsonObject, as the docs state that XPRIM_JsonWriter is better suited to deal with larger data. That being the case, I found a current solution to be to use: #Writer.SetOutputToHttpRequest Httprequest(#HttpRequ...

Re: #XPRIM_JsonWriter - SetOutputToHttpRequest

I found the usual enemy suspect, me! With the .SetOutputToHttpRequest function, the .WriteString commands write directly to the HttpRequest, and not an actual String. I had a command later in my debug routines (which work great with .SetOutputToString), that was failing trying complete a Writer.asSt...

Re: #XPRIM_JsonWriter - SetOutputToHttpRequest

Have found that if I leave out the lines adding the file string, this will work.
There is some issue with trying to use the .WriteBase64StringFromFile command, with .SetOutputToHttpRequest.
I have submitted a support case, and will update once I get a resolution.

Re: #XPRIM_JsonWriter - SetOutputToHttpRequest

Does anyone have any updated documentation or notes on the ".SetOutputToHttpRequest" method? When using XPRIM_JsonWriter.SetOutputToString, I can build the Json string with (#HttpRequest.Content.AddSTring . . . ) and it works to complete the request, so I confirmed the Json building/format is valid....

Re: #XPRIM_JsonWriter & WriteBase64StringFromFile

Tim, I tried working with the Addfile method, but didn't have much luck. Kept either having it blow up the request, or end up like the other request with extra sets of segment delimiters which the trade partner can't accept. Another idea or question I have, is what about using #XPRIM_JsonWriter.SetO...

Re: #XPRIM_JsonWriter & WriteBase64StringFromFile

I had submitted the length question to Lansa support, but have yet to receive any reply, but Brendan answered the initial question. At this time, I am trying to avoid having to use Integrator JSM, and keep it all in the simplified VL Web coding. Since the limitation I am dealing with is the 65535 ch...

#XPRIM_JsonWriter & WriteBase64StringFromFile

Scenario: VL web application for communicating with business partner REST API application (http put). Our server is IBM i. New requirement from partner is to upload file in base64 in the http put request. I read in other posts that the WriteBase64StringFromFile is good up to 16Meg, due to limitation...

Re: ignore SSL certificate error / disable SSL certificate verification

In Postman there is a setting "ignore SSL certificate error" which lets me read the data from the HTTP response. Is there anything like this setting that could be replicated in VL web?

Re: ignore SSL certificate error / disable SSL certificate verification

Brendan, Yes using #PRIM_WEB.HttpRequest on the client side. Setting the Browser to ignore ssl cert errors, brings up other issues, and opens too many security issues. I am trying to find a means to use the non SSL connection (HTTP://mydevice/) like you mention, and I can send or reach out via this ...

ignore SSL certificate error / disable SSL certificate verification

In VL Web application, using #PRIM_WEB.HttpRequest, to make a GET request to a network attached device, is there any means to ignore SSL certificate error, or to disable the SSL certificate verification in request? I have found some other examples for other platforms, and am thinking there might be ...

Re: VL Web multiple document download

I had made a copy of the xAttachment dialog to use in one of my VL web applications and noticed the same. Looking into it, and I could be wrong, but I didn't see where the sample dialog had logic to build a collection of the selected items. The multiple selection wasn't a need for us, so I just edit...

Re: GUID as number

Interesting. I will need to research this further. I used the same #Result definition you had (reffld: XLib_INT64), double checked my repository to verify that XLib_INT64 was defined as 8 byte Integer. Yet in my tests, it calcs fine all the way through the iterations to the 15th power, but on the 16...

Re: GUID as number

Brendan, Thanks for this bit. I copied the code into a RUP, compiles fine, but crashes when runs. Doing some debug work, the crash occurs in the BEGIN_LOOP statement during the #Result calc. If it makes a difference, my RUP is server side based (running on IBM i server). #Result += #Com_self.GetHexC...

Re: PRIM_JSON.Writer reuse

Sotiris, Yes, the XPRIM_JSON.Writer object can be reused within a list. Are you wanting the output Json to be just simple json string, or are you wanting the output to be an array? Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but here is a simple sample I tested to work. Writer defined in the S/M: ...
