Re: LANSA Mobile for Windows 7

Hi Art,

PRIM_WEB.FilePicker will let you take a picture and give you the BLOB to send to the server, or is there more to it?

https://docs.lansa.com/14/en/lansa016/p ... picker.htm

Or is there more to it?

Cheers,
Danny

Re: understanding events

Hi, I think this is an example of quite a common mistake.... Your comment says B has scope *application IN A. There's only ever truly one instance of B if the define_com has the same name and scope *application EVERYWHERE in your app. So my guess is that that isn't true and you end up setting your p...

Re: Decimal / Percent Conversion and Display

Hi Joe, I just gave it a try too. It's a bug in Visual LANSA. In plain JavaScript the result of Math.floor(1.14 * 100) = 113 I know it's weird but that's what it does. It's got to do with the imprecise nature of the JavaScript floating point number. (You can easily verify this on w3schools.com) To g...

Re: Double click on list can't show loading image

Hi Art, your sample code shows some synchronous processing, that won't work. The browser doesn't update the UI while a script is running. If it was a real server call though you can show the loading image while the ASYNC call is happening. I think all you have to do is run one of the simple CRUD tem...

Re: Bearer Token in CLOB

Hi Joe, a LANSA String field can hold up to 64k, what makes you think your token might exceed this? I just googled a but and it looks like a larger size would hit other limitations long before it hits LANSA's field length limit. ( https://stackoverflow.com/questions/26033983/what-is-the-maximum-size...

Re: PRIM_MD.Dropdown Changed

Hi Joe,

I thought it was fixed.

https://www.lansa.com/support/notes/epc/epc142030.htm

mentions

0160963 PRIM_MD.Dropdown changed event fired even when set programmatically
This defect has now been rectified

is that yours?

Re: Material Design Icon on Data Table List

Hi, just a quick update on this one. EPC140230 introduces two new column classes on PRIM_LIST, PRIM_LIST.Icon / #PRIM_LIST.Label, which are basically the list-version of PRIM_MD.Icon/PRIM_MD.Label. So now you don't have to introduce a reusable part for the Material Design icon anymore... copy the co...

Re: Server Module invokes an RP that has Table I/O

Hi, I'm slightly confused by your question. The Target Platform of a Reusable Part can be: - All Platforms - Web Browser - Windows/IBMi/Linux for a Server Module to use it it needs to either be ALL or Windows/IBMi/Linux. And for Windows/IBMi/Linux you're allowed to use IO commands, they're just not ...

Re: Dynamic use of PRIM_VIEW

Hi Dominique, It all depends... :) Personally I would prefer to keep the Views static, but that's really only so they show up at Design Time and the code stays as readable as possible. If they don't do any work during CreateInstance, then all that happens is that all the View Instances will get cons...

Re: Async loading

Hi Dominique, I downloaded your sample but I wasn't quite sure what it was trying to prove, so I'll just tell you what I know, it might help. As a simplistic rule of thumb, the browser only does ONE thing at a time, so while it is running code it is NOT updating the screen. When you receive data fro...

Re: TimeStamp Math

Hi, just double checking, you have re-compiled all the objects that use that field (and therefor those attributes), including the file? I've struggled with 9/10 hour unexplained difference in the past (I'm in Australia :)), but never multiple days. And changing those attributes should do something ....

Re: Refresh a changed #PRIM_TBLO.Item

No problem. Feel free to ask more questions as they pop up. Just on the side: I'm always a bit wary of RDMLX that dynamically creates UI. You end up missing out on all the designer features because you're now doing it in code, and unless you're writing some sort of framework (which isn't easy), ther...

Re: Refresh a changed #PRIM_TBLO.Item

Hi, I don't think your code does what you think it does :) I never see the ComponentTag of the layout item being assigned any value... I suggest you just compare references, instead of ComponentTag values, so instead of If Cond(#LayoutItemBotton.ComponentTag *EQ #Button.ComponentTag) it is be much e...

Re: VLF-ONE Script Error on Debug with Breakpoint

Hi Joe, I can only reply to the debugging crash, not your reason for debugging in the first place :) The crash is a bug in the LANSA runtime's debugging module. It is trying to capture the current callstack and the state of all variables in the active scope so it can send it to the Editor to display...

Re: file picker and CSV file

Hi, I can tell you what I know. I'm not quite clear in how far you got in getting what you want. - A BLOB field on the SERVER contains a path to a file on disk containing the data. - A BLOB field in the BROWSER contains a (blob-)url to a piece of memory containing the data. LANSA allows a BLOB to be...

Re: Going crazy, problem with Server Function and List

Hi,

Well done to both you. That wouldn't have been obvious.

I guess it's technically correct for a local parameter to obscure a global field.

But not very helpful indeed.

Did either of you log it as a defect, do you know?

Cheers,
Danny

Re: Going crazy, problem with Server Function and List

Hi Art,

If you're still looking, what are the field names in the JSON, I think it's above [entries] in a header variable, I might be wrong....

And how do they compare to the field names in the generated JavaScript for the call to the Server?
