VLF-Win Status bar

Is there a way to add information to the bar at the bottom? We currently are using set_Session_value in our embedded interface point to indicate the user is in test mode. Maybe even in the window title? We would like to show Test=True or simply the word TEST when in test mode. Is there a good way to...

Re: SQL Join

Does your select_Sql command have IM.IMITNO IM.IMDESC fields in it?.

Don't you need a comma in between the two fields?

Re: SQL Join

I did A BUNCH of Select_Sql recently. If you can create views to make your selections and joins happen in the DB and you don't have to worry about them in LANSA. If you are connecting to IBM i the joblog will be a huge help. For instance, you specify 10 fields in the SELECT statement but a different...

Re: Submitting a function on IBM i

I'm guessing it's because LANSA doesn't write it's RDMLX statements to the joblog. Is there anyway to get RDML/X to log?

Submitting a function on IBM i

I'm using this command to submit a function. This is already running via CALL_SERVER_FUNCTION. This is VL-WIN Submit Process(PSO) Function(FSOPOST) Exchange(#soBatc #std_Obj) Jobd(DC@POST) At the end of the function I want to print the joblog so I do this: Exec_Os400 Command('DSPJOBLOG output(*PRINT...

Re: Instance List - 1 record or many

Your whereclause needs to be correct. It probably has somefield = somevalue, it should be somefield like somevalue%.

Does the VLF have an option that you check to tell it to select greater than equal or generic?

Re: What's going on @ LANSA?

Idera just made news last week.

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/idera-in ... 00136.html

It could be good news, I guess. It could be bad news if they are planning on selling the company outright.

Re: What's going on @ LANSA?

Well I received a call from "Obi-Wan Kenobi" (also known as Pete Draney). I was very encouraged by the fact that he is still involved with LANSA affairs at this time and I am willing to give Idera the benefit of the doubt for now and wait and see what the future will hold. While I have some concern...

I regularly have to reboot my Terminal Services (Remote Desktop) server. It seems that multiple users over time will use memory that does not seem to release when they leave VL.
Hamad is gone. Unless you get a call from Australia you'll have to keep rebooting forever.

If I had an incident get lost in the pile, Don always responded immediately. I 1hink all of marketing is gone. I'm not a customer of Professional...

What's going on @ LANSA?

My emails to support go unanswered, new incidents never get picked up by anyone. Linked in messages let me know that most of the people I used to talk to in Chicago are no longer there. Even the president "retired" Idera doesn't get great reviews on line. I know their press releases said things will...

Re: New To Visual Lansa

Dropping fields on a list will always put them at the end. Adjust the displayposition property . For moving things around with margins and stuff you want/need layout manager. I used to do a full day class on layout manager at shops. You could delete any layouts and just drop things where you want th...

I can't figure out how to maintain VL-WIN flow layouts. I usually have to redo them with rows/columns.

Re: Lansa Editor on virtual machine

I have this all the time on my 16gig I7 7th gen. All SSD. Just hitting the space bar will cause the IDE to pause. I tried to show Hamad this but as soon as he logged on to my PC it was OK. I didn't bother trying to show him again. Recently a customer bought two new high end machines, SSD, lots of me...

Re: New To Visual Lansa

Is there something like an F4 to show be what parameters a Method contains? So LANSA created a filter for me, but it contains errors. For instance: #Search.ExecuteAsync ACCESSKEYS(#Accesskeys) INSTANCELIST_COLUMNS(#InstanceList_Columns) Gives me the error: Method ExecuteAsnyc does not contain param...

Re: New To Visual Lansa

Are you comfortable with the IDE? Do you understand RDML? Fetch is chain, SELECT is SETLL/READE loop, etc. RDMLX has all of the intrinsics just like RPG, even more, but they are on the other side of the variable. For instance %trim(myfield) is #myfield.trim in LANSA. Intrinsics like asDisplayString ...

Oh I didn't know you could send strings to the response. The example showed transform_list. This should work for me. Thanks!

Download a CSV with Column Headings

Currently using transform_list to download a file using the download CSV example. But I need to have the first line be a column heading. I can write the stream file with the headings first but I there is no option to append for transform_list. The appendage list option in transform_file looks like i...
