Re: VLWeb PRIM_MD.DropDown Click Event

Try as I may, I could not find an alternative control or display mechanic to handle this that I liked. So I punted, and made my own. 8-) With a combination of PRIM_MD.Edit, PRIM_MD.List and the regular PRIM_PPNL popup, I made it work just like a standard PRIM_MD.DropDown. The only "weird" thing to f...

Re: GET_MESSAGE Scope

Thanks Danny!

Using the *RECEIVES_MESSAGES on the GetMessages method solves it. Never used those particular options before. Still have a lot to learn. :D

Thanks again.

GET_MESSAGE Scope

Is getting a message with GET_MESSAGE scoped to the routine that issued the message? I have an insert statement as such insert fields(#EP0001F1Fields) to_file(EP0001F1) io_error(*NEXT) val_error(*NEXT) if_status is(*OKAY) #SYS_APPLN.TraceMessageData( 'CreateWorkforceLink - Link Created - Location: &...

VLWeb PRIM_MD.DropDown Click Event

Anyone know how to "fake" a Click event with PRIM_MD.DropDown. I have a dropdown that has a few options. #STD_TEXT := 'This Week' #STD_TEXTS := 'THIS_WEEK' #DropDownList.Items.Add value(#STD_TEXTS) caption(#STD_TEXT) #STD_TEXT := 'Last Week' #STD_TEXTS := 'LAST_WEEK' #DropDownList.Items.Add value(#S...

Re: Download a CSV with Column Headings

Hey Art, is this in VLWeb where the CSV is downloaded via a browser? If so, we do this by using *RESOURCE response. srvroutine name(Download) response(*RESOURCE #response) session(*REQUIRED) * write the header #response.ContentString += ('"Week Ended","Check Number","Days Worked","Hours Worked","Gro...

Re: ODBC Error Invalid Column Name when adding new Field

That confirms what I thought I was happening and what the fix was. I typically don't work with LANSA created Tables, so I normally only have "Rebuild OAM" selected and as you mentioned this is what caused the issue. I would be really nice IMHO, if the compile errored or warned me that something was ...

Re: ODBC Error Invalid Column Name when adding new Field

Ok, so this kinda thing is super frustrating. I removed the Field and was still getting the error. Thinking that something had to be cached somewhere, I killed of all the processes and rebooted the PC. Still same error WITHOUT the Field in the File. All the while I am compiling with the drop / reloa...

Re: ODBC Error Invalid Column Name when adding new Field

Hey Chad, I did not think about the collation, after all this is a LANSA created database and LANSA created Table with LANSA created Fields. Nothing changed. I ran the query to check the collation and got SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS so it should be case insensitive and accent sensitive. Nothing out...

ODBC Error Invalid Column Name when adding new Field

I have a LANSA defined table that I am trying to add a Field "LastName" to. The table has data in it that I don't want to loose, I just need to add a column to it. When compiling the Table, if I choose Rebuild Table, Rebuild indexes and views, Rebuild OAMs, the new column does not show up in the tab...

Re: Colspan + Rowspan within a #PRIM_LIST

Look into the List Cell Interface
https://docs.lansa.com/14/en/lansa016/p ... design.htm

It allows you to customize the display of an individual cell with multiple fields.

In your case, your second column could contain the panel described by Chad.

Hope this helps,
Joe

VLF-ONE Check Availability to Command in custom Instance List

In VLF-ONE the framework manager has an avCheckAvailibity method to check if the user has access to a particular object. I am looking for a way to check if the user has access to a specific Command in that object. Is there anyway to use avCheckAvailablity with Commands? The docs here https://docs.la...

Re: VLF-ONE Merging Frameworks

Hey Balaji, By Commands, you mean new command definitions right? Not Command Handlers / Filters. In this case, all the command are already in the framework ( the handlers are not). When I try to merge JUST the Business Objects BEFORE the Application, the Merge Tool does not know what their parent is...

Re: VLF-ONE Merging Frameworks

This bit me in the behind yet again. This happens after using the MergeTool. Capture.PNG I added the Application (without the Objects) to avoid the previously mentioned issues. Then added the Objects to the newly created Application. Initially everything looked ok, until a coworker checked it out an...

Re: VLF ONE #PRIM_MD.Input caption styling

I would like to know how to do this as well. I find Theme customization super confusing. Between the ThemeCustomizer(VF_AC033O), VLWeb(PRIM_THM) and the Framework itself, its hard to know which to use and when. EDIT You can change the caption color with capture.png But I can't figure out how to do i...

Re: Decimal / Percent Conversion and Display

Ahh, I thought it may be a javascript thing. I submitted a support ticket because it was driving me crazy. I'll add your info to it. It dawned on me late last night, that I can do the conversion on the server and avoid the issue. Management is concerned that a user may mis-enter a decimal point whic...

Re: Decimal / Percent Conversion and Display

In this instance CurrentBPU1 should not be relevant. It is used in a diff calculation later. It is defined as a reffld of BPU1 define field(#CurrentBPU1) reffld(#BPU1) BPU1 & 2, wk_Percent1 & 2 are the only fields displayed. From your MESSAGE_BOX_ADD, I assume you are using VLWIN, whereas I am in VL...

Re: Decimal / Percent Conversion and Display

That was going to be my next move. I was trying to avoid it as when the user enters a value, I am going to have to do some checking to ensure only numbers are entered. Easily enough done, I was just wanting to avoid it if I could. The calculation should not require rounding. When I tried it with the...
