VL-Web - how to show notes with basic (line) formating

The requirement is to show list of notes on single web page. Each note have a single caption and some text, basically formated only by paragraphs (defined point for new line). I have created reusable part as the caption + text container and made collection from them, filled from list. It works fine,...

Re: A question about doing development on laptops

Working with laptop only for about 15 years. Currently have 15 inch FullHD Lenovo. In office I am using secondary monitor (also FHD) and attached mouse, out of office using only the NTB, without any accessories. I never have used external keyboard. Using only touchpad in VL development is sometime t...

Is there some VL-Web file upload example? Both methods of file selection (via filepicker or via drag end drop) are required.

Re: JSON external data transfer

Any other idea? JSON is format proferred by LANSA and used in WAMs, VL-WEB... why it is problem to process JSON from other source, if it will pass LANSA naming rules??

JSON external data transfer

We have requirements to exchange some data between LANSA web application and 3rd party. The communication can be single way: LANSA issue request GET (...) and should receive back some data in JSON format. JSON is nativelly used by WAMs or VL-WEB in V14, therefore it should be possible to process the...

Re: VL-WEB cache management

I simply added an image to existing button, placed in reusable part. I tested that it was not visible (because of cache) using both URLs. After re-compiling of the entry point page (to force re-build cache manifest), with standard url: http://<server>/lansa14/<partition>/<page>.html it was visible o...

Re: VL-WEB cache management

Thanks for explanation. I activated the cache manifest and added required components (some of them are dynamically referred, so the cross reference cannot find them automatically). Now I am wondering: - It works absolutelly fine, if I use standard URL: http://<server>/lansa14/<partition>/<page>.html...

VL-WEB cache management

Hello, In VL-WEB, we have problems, that changes in components (typically reusable parts) are not detected by clients. It is client cache problem, which have to be cleaned manually by user, and not all users doing it. The browsers probably do not detect, that file datetime stamp or size was changed....

Re: Tab Folder Styling

Thanks for the reference description, it works fine.
Concerning the example, there is a problem with the style import. It is visible in Import list, but not visible as component after import.

Re: Tab Folder Styling

I do not like style definition inside particular component, I would prefer to use Themes to define look and behaviour centrally. It should play similar role like CSS in standard web and should allow to manage it centrally for whole project, without requirement to modify many objects. In this case, w...

Re: Passing Lists to other components

It depends on environment you are working in. If the components are VL-Windows components or IBMi components, or WAMs it is quite easy. You cannot pass it directly from one component to another, but you can pass it into function, shared by both and used as 'transaction container'. Use : Function Opt...

Re: Simple data transfer IBMi - > MSSQL ?

I already had the files compiled on both sides, but the Refresh repository was the key!
It works and I am able to replicate data. I still have NL character conversion problem, but it can be wrong settings, I will consult it with local support.
Thanks for your advice!

Re: Simple data transfer IBMi - > MSSQL ?

I have V14 EPC 14100 and I have no option like this visible, so I cannot test it. But I remember, it was mentioned as some enhancement request sheduled to V14. It is refered by this topics: http://docs.lansa.com/140/EN/lansa801/index.htm#lansa/l4wADM03_0035.htm?Highlight=copy but the link aim to rep...

Re: iSeries Execution

Two simple notes: 1) This url should test, if your environment (webserver, LANSA...) is set correctly: http://<yourIBMServer>/<yourLANSALIB>/<yourPartition>/xvlwebtst.html i.e.: http://bdat03.bizdata.cz/lansa14/isy/xvlwebtst.html You can find it from VL-IDE File->Options->Web 2) The Web debug must b...

Simple data transfer IBMi - > MSSQL ?

VL and especially version management is primary designed for development and testing on local PC. Our typical database environment is IBMi. There is no problem to create / compile LANSA files in both databases (IBMi and MS/SQL), but for testing a data are required (which are in IBMi only). Do you ha...

Re: updating a list entry image column

Many thanks for good example, it shows, how to refer the image via CurrentItem object. But IMHO the example code is not fully correct. The reference to CurrentItem can be established after Add_entry or Get_Entry command, not before. You can omit (comment) the Evtroutine Handling(#List1.ItemGotSelect...

Re: Dates and locale in the browser

Hello, Two problems: - The mentioned locale settings is not aplyed to 'Today' date format in date prompter (the last field at the bottom) - probably bug. - The locale settings does not work with intrinsic function .AsDayofWeek. Is it a bug, or the values are taken from other place (*MTXT, MSGF ...?)...

VL-WEB Reusable part in list & Event signaling

Situation: VL-WEB list (Class(#PRIM_LIST) ) can contain columns realised by Reusable parts. Define_Com Class(#PRIM_LIST.Part).... Design(#MyReusablePart) Is there a way, how to signal an (user defined event) from the reusable #MyReusablePart ? It is (of course) not possible directly, because the reu...
