Re: VLFONE: dataentry in a dropdown

Hi Klaus,

Provided you've added a ShowPopup in the visualization code, it should work.

Here's a second version. The popup is now a reusable part and it's being used by the EMPNO visualization. As soon as the visualization changes, the popup is shown.

Re: VLFONE: dataentry in a dropdown

Silly question, but did you ensure that the reusable part has a target platform of Web Browser?

Re: VLFONE: dataentry in a dropdown

Yes, this would convert to a Visual Host visualization very simply. Visualizations, good as they are, can be a little restrictive at times, but for a simple field prompt it would work well. You could also go a step further and turn the popup itself in to a generic reusable popup with list. My guess ...

Re: VLFONE: dataentry in a dropdown

Dropdown sounds like the right control for this, but creating your own "Dropdown" using a popup panel is probably simpler. Attached is an export of a page and related server module. When the input value changes, the server module is called and a list of employee details is returned. This searches ba...

Re: VL-WEB Reusable part in list & Event signaling

Hi Jiri Add a define_Com for the class of the reusable part and set it when ever the list focus changes. You'll then have a reference to listen to events on. Define_Com Class(#MyReusablePart) Name(#CurrentPart) Reference(*Dynamic) Evtroutine #List.ItemGotFocus #CurrentPart <= #PartColumn.Currentitem...

Re: Retrieving Browser

Hi Joerg "We like to prevent the users from closing the application or refreshing pages" In short, you can't. There is no realistic way of doing this. This is a very good thing indeed!! Most web site developers are good people, but there are a few whose motivations are less friendly. It's the same r...

Re: VL-WEB - using #PRIM_WEB.MessageBox for message processing

Hi Jiri v14 introduces the #sys_msgq object. This collects all the messages that have been generated by the application, whether that's on the client or the server. It is down to the user to clear the messages whenever they want to. This allows for multiple server requests to be executed without pre...

Re: Retrieving Browser

Hi Joerg This information is available in the browser UserAgent string, accessible with a tiny bit of JavaScript in a widget. http://www.w3schools.com/jsref/prop_nav_useragent.asp We haven't made this available in VL because VL will manage browser differences for you. There shouldn't be a need for c...

Re: Controlling Browser Events

Hi Joerg You can use the VL Short Cut Key (Prim_stpg) to detect key presses. However, all browsers consume some keystrokes for their own purposes, so relying on them is a risky business, and of course they're meaningless on a mobile or tablet. With regards to stopping the browser navigating away fro...

Re: SYS_WEB.print - including images

Hi Joerg

Sorry to say, but this is a limitation of browser printing. Quite why they don't print what you see is a bit of a mystery.

There's plenty of discussion of this on the tech forums.

Hi Joe I found exactly the same issues when making the xDemoWebBackForward example. It's slightly simpler than yours, but the concepts are the same. Your current processing is similar to this Click green. Show green. Add green. Click red. Show red. Add red. Click blue. Show blue. Add blue. Click bac...

Re: How to define a 'Link' component in VL-WEB List?

Hi Jiri Attached is an export of simple page and reusable part showing a couple of ways this can be done. The list has 4 columns. 2 are defined in the list itself (xDemoCaption and xDemoAlpha128) and 2 more (#xDemoAlpha256 and #xDemoAlpha256_2) are defined in a reusable part which has been added as ...

Application/Data Server - Job Usage

Despite the best efforts of developers, it is effectively impossible to ensure that all memory resources are used perfectly. Re: Displaying web based images

There are 2 ways of managing images in Visual LANSA. First is to set the Filename property of an image control. This is effectively a direct reference to the URL. #ImageControl.FileName := YourImage.jpg The second option is to create a bitmap instance. This makes the image manageable as a component ...

Dates and locale in the browser

Date fields are formatted based on the ISO language code specified in the partition language. Visual LANSA defaults to a US locale. For non-US customers, it may be necessary to modify the ISO setting. As the locale features are compiled in to the JavaScript, you must ensure that all web pages and pa...

Re: 3rd party .NET libraries integration into Visual Lansa

Hi Davide

As far as I'm aware, the documentation (docs.lansa.com/140/en/lansa013/index.htm#lansa/L4wDev07_0365.htm) is all that there is currently.

If you have specific questions on the subject, please forward the request to your regional support centre
