Re: VLF-ONE IBM i Authentication and Authorization

Everything you have stated seems okay to me. Only think to consider is that your invented VLF groups don’t necessarily have to match with your IBM I groups. To get the group I would be included to do something like this: In your custom version of UF_OLOGON there is a method called Validatepassword. ...

Re: VLF-ONE IBM i Authentication and Authorization

There are also sometimes finely detailed authority options you may need that cannot be expressed in your right to use an application, a business object or a command. For example, only some users might be allowed to use the Approve button on a loan details screen, or the Print button on a picking sli...

Re: VLF-ONE IBM i Authentication and Authorization

There's one final option to consider You can replace the entire VLF security model with one of your own design. This means you never have to enroll or maintain anything in the VLF and can possibly more directly integrate with security features you might already have Your logon program says yes or no...

Re: VLF-ONE IBM i Authentication and Authorization

Note that a VLF group is not necessarily the same as an IBM I group user, so your VLF security model does not have to be a mirror of your IBM model, it’s up to you. First you need to decide whether you want to enrol all your user, or just create groups. For example, If you had 20 groups on your IBM ...

Re: VLF-ONE IBM i Authentication and Authorization

Yes it works in VLF-ONE. Setup is described here http://docs.lansa.com/14/EN/lansa048/index.htm#lansa/lansa048_6545.htm Using groups is outlines here http://docs.lansa.com/14/EN/lansa048/index.htm#lansa/lansa048_6565.htm Note how in the CheckUserCredentials that the user #UserProfileToCheck is input...

Re: VL Framwork Private Connection

One you have the VF_FP007 server object you want to connect to you should be able to say:

#Server.uConnect User(XXXXXXX) Password(XXXXXXX) returnCode(#ReturnCode)

where you are looking for #ReturnCode to come back as OK.

Re: VL Framwork Private Connection

Inside your private connection logic you can iterate through the servers defined to the VLF like this: * Use VL's F2 feature help to see all properties exposed by this server object Define_Com Class(#VF_FP007) Name(#Server) Reference(*dynamic) * Get the first server Invoke Method(#uSystem.uServerCon...

Re: VL Framwork Private Connection

I was just looking at some code in the VLF connector.

I think you can reuse the VLF's standard connection logic - the same logic used for your other users.

I will try to find an example and post it to the forum tomorrow morning.

The name looks like the DLL might be exposed as .NET component.
Did you try enrolling it in your repository?

Re: VL Framwork Private Connection

I don’t have a code sample so all I can offer is some pointers to the things you might need to use. avPrivateConnect is normally used to establish a super-server session with a remote server, so I am going to assume that is what you need to do. Let me know if it’s something else. You use your own cu...

Re: Startup all Business Objects under Favourites with one click in VLF

Have you experimented with putting an avSwitch operation into your IIP's MainWindowread method? I think this can be used to automatically open something when a user logs on. http://docs.lansa.com/14/en/lansa048/index.htm#lansa/lansa048_5620.htm http://docs.lansa.com/14/en/lansa048/index.htm#lansa/la...

A question about doing development on laptops

Hi

I was wondering if any of you work all day building applications using only a laptop?

ie: A laptop that is not plugged into bigger screen(s), a real mouse, etc.

If you do - what sort of resolution do you run the laptop screen at?

Thanks.

I'm not sure where program CHGLIBL fits into this? Did you create this program? You could try something like this: Mthroutine Name(Test) #COM_OWNER.ChangeLibraryList To("QGPL LIBRARY1 LIBRARY2 LIBRARY3") Endroutine Mthroutine Name(ChangeLibraryList) Access(*PRIVATE) Define_Map For(*input) Class(#pri...

Re: Need Advice on Specifying RAMP-One folder name in VLF-ONe at runtime

The RAMP and logon server default values that VLF-ONE uses at execution time are saved into your xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx_LLL_VLFONE_ Definition .DAT file from the server definition that is tagged as the deployment server ……. capture1.png So if you had your test server and production server both defined you ...

Re: VLF-ONE uExecute method invocation

Hi David - yes that is acting as designed (same as VLF-WIN I think). If your command handler is sitting on "dirty" unsaved data then you need to check for that in both contexts - whenever your are asked to execute a command, or when you are asked to close.

Re: Changing Library in Server Module

You might do this as a small CL (Control Language) program which is easy to call from an RDMLX LANSA program. It could retrieve the L4Web job’s current library list and examine it via RTVJOBA command’s URSLIBL parameter. Then after deciding what libraries need to be added (or removed) it can use ADD...
