Re: Lansa Editor on virtual machine

Where is your virtual machine physically located?

If it does not actually exist on your PC (ie: the PC your monitor is plugged into) then what are you using to access its desktop (eg: RDC, Citrix, etc)?

Re: How to login

Some people prefer to validate the VL-Web session user and password against their operating system credentials. That might save having to give people multiple profiles and/or do dual user profile maintenance. It might also be more secure, because normally operating system user credentials are very s...

Re: VLF One V14SP1 Users and Authorities

In your framework you have will have a server side component that handles all user sign ins ........... image1.png Since you cannot use UF_OLOGON in a production framework, you will have probably made your own copy of it already. In your copy, change the CheckUserCredentials method to return #UseFra...

Re: VL Web running on mobile device Motorola MC9100

It looks like it is running Windows Mobile?
Do you know what version of Windows Mobile they are running?
Knowing that might lead to some documentation and forums discussing what the inbuilt web browser is capable of re HTML5 and modern browser standards.

Re: Job Names for Web Jobs

The complexity is that your WAM is not always assigned the same job - which you said you have accounted for. However there is some other option I think where WAM jobs also get killed off after so many usages? It's beyond my knowledge whether that is for the same session, or only for different sessio...

Re: How to retrieve web session variable in c/l program on Iseries?

I might be misunderstanding the usage context here, so please ignore this if I have. Presumably the WAM is on top of the call stack and it cannot simply pass as parameters? Maybe you could create or update data area(s) in QTEMP to contain the value(s). The WAM on top sets it up. The called CL or RPG...

Re: Job Names for Web Jobs

I am pretty sure can not do that that in the current version. You might be able to change the job name by changing a job description somewhere, but that would just be to another invariant constant name. You could put in an enhancement request via product support. The job number is no help because it...

Re: VLF-ONE - Check if filter is open from commandhandler

Are you using the latest VLF-ONE version - EPC14 1 006 released last week? If not, then I think what you are encountering is defect that was corrected in EPC141006. If you can't upgrade yet, then meanwhile you could condition your instance list logic by: If (#avListManager *IsNot *null) Endif so tha...

Logging onto VLF-ONE without entering a user and password

If you are developing a VLF-ONE application then having to continuously enter your credentials can become onerous. Here's a way to enter them automatically and avoid the log on dialog. Create a new reusable part named MYLOGON (say). In your custom VLF-ONE entry point form, copied from UF_OEXEC, nomi...

Re: filePicker and VLFONE

Attached is some old code from around 2008 - it's RDMLX but it uses short names. It demos how a VL rich client Windows form can upload and download files. The server side remote procedure it uses could possibly be converted into a Server Module to handle request made by VL Web pages. Super_server_Ex...

Re: Framework Reconnect

That sounds like in your VLF-WIN application you have an IIP (ie: your copy of UF_SYSTM) that is calling the server setup up function in its redefined avMAINWindowReady method? If that’s correct then this might do the job for you …. First declare this in your IIP so that you can listen to events sig...

Re: Job Names for Web Jobs

This also means that you have to reestablish a L4Web job's required execution state on every single interaction.
The classic example of this is the job's library list.
If you change it on the first request you cannot be sure it will be the same on the next request.

Re: Job Names for Web Jobs

L4Web server jobs must be stateless. This means every time you send a request to the server it gets routed into a L4Web job. Most of the time your request get routed into the same L4Web job as the last request your sent, but sometimes your request will get routed into a different L4Web job. This mea...

Re: Framework multiple windows

There is no option to do this automatically. You might be able to do this by disabling the automatic framework new windows option and adding in your own commands to launch separate framework sessions on the client (ie: launch new X_RUN.EXE sessions on the client that probably switch to a specific th...
