Re: VLFOne Size filter & instance list and set column selection

A new method avListManager.avSetColumnVisibility is coming soon (in VLF epc142005 Hotfix_001).

It allows filters to control column visibility in a way that is reflected in the Column selection menu that the end user sees.

Re: VLF-ONE Cannot Add String Type to Instance List Workbench

Well spotted.

There's a bug specific to that field type:

When Value_Is(= A, = H, = B, = '1,', = '2', = '8', = '9')
* A = Alpha
* H = Character
* B = Binary
* 1 = String
* 2 = VarBinary
* 8 = NChar (unicode)
* 9 = NVarChar (unicode)

You should raise the issue with support.

Re: VLF_TUTORIAL (multiple instances) not matching current version??

This tutorial is a bit out of date. It was created before the Common Activities tabs became available. You now have to add data dictionary fields. But they don't have to be from a physical file (table), so you could use data dictionary fields like #STD_TEXT if you wanted. If you were intending to tu...

Re: VLFOne Size filter & instance list and set column selection

Note: Although the instance list width cannot be set at run time (as you are requesting), the initial instance list width can be set to a single value, in the framework properties for the business object. (Business object properties --> Instance List tab --> VLF-ONE Instance List Initial Width) Sinc...

Re: field symbol

I think there is no commonly used feature like that in RDML/RDMLX code. If you are reading data using SELECT_SQL, the SQL instruction can be a string, so you can build up the string any way you want. That would allow you to specify the field name at run time. See https://docs.lansa.com/14/en/lansa01...

Re: field symbol

Could you explain a bit more about what you are trying to do. Is 'Fini01' the name of a field that you want to update, or the value you want to update? Normally if you want to update fields you would do something like: Group_By Name(#SomeFields) Fields(#xEmployeeSurname #xEmployeeGivenName) #xEmploy...

Re: NOTE ON LANSA AS/400 (IBM I)

Its a message to warn programmers when their programs are getting too large and complicated. But in this case, the complexity is only moderate, so its not likely to be a problem. Programmers sometimes make the mistake of loading up one program with all their logic, instead of splitting the program i...

It should work. Check that you are looking in the location where it should be. If its not, its probably a problem for support.

Re: Submit button to execute .Net VB program

I think you are basically opening a URL on the client. The VL web reusable part is already running on the client, so these two ways might suit Either Define_Com Class(#PRIM_WEB.Page) Name(#WebPage) Description('Web Page') Displayposition(1) Height(327) Parent(#COM_OWNER) Tabposition(1) Tabstop(False...

Re: VLF-ONE Import / Export iSeries

For external resources, if you want the object to be created on import, you have to specify Compiled Form=Y for that object, on the export. If that flag is set, it should recreate the object in the target environment. To avoid the message about the library, on import, you can use an export setting c...

Re: $$ Files and Rebuilding Files

For files lansa owns, it always does the $$ copy, if the data is to be preserved. Its not rebuilding them - its copying the physical file object and loading in the data from the target environment. For Other files I think the Physical file stays put, so you are just exporting lansa's definition of i...

Re: $$ Files and Rebuilding Files

In the case of export import, on an iSeries. On the iSeries, during import, if the data in the target environment is to be preserved: Say you are importing a file like PSLMST, and there is already a PSLMST in the target environment Lansa renames the existing physical file to $$PSLMST. Then it brings...

Re: Numeric Only in Edit Box

Probably the easiest way is to change the edit box data class to a numeric data dictionary field. This is a lansa web example, where #STD_INT is a numeric field Begin_Com Role(*EXTENDS #PRIM_WEB) Define_Com Class(#PRIM_EDIT) Name(#Edit1) Displayposition(1) Left(118) Parent(#COM_OWNER) Showselection(...

Re: Spacelists

There are some comments in the documentation, under Create_Space http://docs.lansa.com/14/en/lansa015/content/lansa/create_space.htm The advantage of using a SPACE is that they are very very fast, if you need to repeatedly access data and update it, in memory. The disadvantage is that it does not wo...

Re: How to get the value of Framework USERSET

You already know the value of the SET property, since you are the creator of the framework.
You should not need to look it up - you can hard code the value into your program.

If you can demonstrate the problem happening in a simple command handler, in a simple framework, then it sounds like a problem for lansa support, to me.

When you check in the function for compile, you should see a dialog like this:
Compile dialogue.PNG
Compile dialogue.PNG (54.8 KiB) Viewed 2876 times
That is where you specify the produce DDS/RPG listing.

VLF Designing an Instance List when prototyping (and you don't have a database table)
