Re: Missing X_ERR.log on Fatal Error

I think ISNull will return True for 0, so your field might actually contain 0. From the lansa documentation: For example, the isnull intrinsic tests the value of the supplied value and returns a true if the value is blanks or zero. You could try .IsSQLNull. But if you have a simple example function ...

Re: Missing X_ERR.log on Fatal Error

Hi Sometimes you find the useful error information in the Job Log, rather than the X_Err.log. e.g. wrksplf and display the spool file for LWEB_JOB that appears when then crash occurs 5 QPJOBLOG VF19PGMLIB QEZJOBLOG LWEB_JOB RDY 4 1 (Likewise, when using the IIS server, sometimes the error informatio...

Re: VLF-ONE Workbench Visual Ids

Hi Joe, You have to have at least 2 visual IDs in the list. To assign visual IDs, you can clear all the fields, and then when you drop fields in, the VLF should assign the first two alpha fields it gets as Visual ID1 and 2. (You can delete a column while you are working with the list fields, but the...

Re: Initialize group_by

This works for me

#MyFields := *NULL

(or #MyFields := *default)

It has to be a special value because a group of fields may contain different types of fields

Re: Development and testing on Localhost

The local file does not contain any data, so you would need to copy in, or generate data for the local file somehow.

The Copy data from IBMi sounds like a good option, though I haven't tried it.

When you are running on localhost you are looking at the (empty) local files.

Re: Components missing in V14?

With regard to the missing MTXTUB_* (and the UB_* fields) They are shipped, but they were classified as belonging to the old VLF-WAM side, so they are not shipped as part of the VLF core. So if you initialize the partition this way, you will get them. Initialize for VLF-WEB.PNG If you want the UB_ f...

Re: lansaweb.dll returning status 500 but logging status 200

There is a file called X_Err.log that is produced when a dll on the server crashes, for an IIS web job.

It can be very useful.

On my PC I would look in:

C:\Windows\Temp.

Re: Opening an existing project on a new laptop

There's a section in the guide about the concepts that you should read through http://docs.lansa.com/14/en/lansa011/content/lansa/l4wadm04_0080.htm At a practical level, You need task tracking active. You maintain repository groups and work groups by signing on to a 5250 terminal as a lansa partitio...

Re: Files in DCXDEVDTA library

Should be ok

Take a backup using Quick Export if you are cautious.

The reason you get those entries is that there is an option when importing to specify the library. I always use "Use the partition data library" in that case.

Re: Opening an existing project on a new laptop

There are many options in this area. So I'll try and keep to the basics. The refresh repository only lets your PC know what objects are available centrally (on the IBMi) So you do need to check everything out (read_only) that your project is going to refer to. Probably you would check everything out...

Re: VLF-ONE Instance List SortAsColumn

Hi, Unfortunately there isn't a way to specify a currency in a field in a VLF-ONE standard instance list. We only have the standard edit codes and no option to specify a currency. If it was an ordinary lansa list and field you could try giving the lansa field an edit word like this: '$ 0. &CR' Your ...

Re the problem: search for blank should return all users.

A patch has been issued for this issue, and you should contact your local support team to get a copy.

The patch is called EPC141050HF_170829.

Re: VLF-ONE Instance List SortAsColumn

Hi Joe, For numeric columns, VF_UM040O already has a hidden numeric column and a visible character version of it. When the user sorts the visible character column, the actual sort is done using the hidden numeric column. So perhaps the solution is to add the data to the instance list as an NColumn, ...

Re: VLF-ONE Missing Users and Authorities After EPC Install

Hi, The search for blank should return all users. You should log this problem with lansa support and request a high priority hotfix. You can have multiple users with the same user profile, since the users are identified by GUID. But you would not normally do so. The delete users problem is a separat...
