Good work Mark. Saved me a bit of messing round and achieves a god distribution over a 1000 calls.

Random Number Range

LANSA's RAndnom_number_generator BIF returns a number between 0 and 1. Has anybody out got a neat trick to this this into a range, e.g. Integers between 1 and 15. I had an RPG based BIF that did this trick but it doesn't work in RDMLX.

Re: Convert SQL to RDMLX?

I agree that in an sql world i/o modules don't make as much sense as they did the rpg days. It should be possible to implement all the validation rules in the repository as native sql constraints and access routes as views etcetera and basically do away with i/o modules but I guess there's only so m...

Re: Convert SQL to RDMLX?

What is your question? This is how you do SQL with RDML. Perhaps you could make a suggestion in the 'Product Enhancement Forum'

Re: Convert SQL to RDMLX?

I just built this a couple of minutes ago. Without select_sql I would have had to build two select loops with appropriate logicals and a fetch. I was able to test this select logic in the green screen sql function before hand and I know that if I was to debug this I could add a breakpoint to the sel...

Re: Convert SQL to RDMLX?

I think having to handle quotes is a small price to pay for accessing the full functionality of sql within an RDMLX function. The speed improvements over traditional SELECT and FECH type coding can be astounding.

Re: Convert SQL to RDMLX?

Why wouldn't you just build a select_sql statement with using then put the insert inside the loop?

base64

The jira api requires that I concat my username and a token and then base 64 encode it. Is this possible in LANSA?

Re: Re-Captch Using V13

I can't help you with WAMs but I believe that you can create user defined widgets implmenting HTML elements and javascript. In which case you need include <script src='https://www.google.com/recaptcha/api.js'></script> and <div class="g-recaptcha" data-sitekey="yoursitekey"></div> and <script type="...

Re: Control allowed characters (DBCS/SBCS) for PRIM_MD.Edit field

James How would you dynamically create and destroy an Editfield. Is this then associated with the PRIM_MD.Edit field? Character by character filtering is fine on the web but if the application is running on a mobile device you want the correct keyboard to pop-up. ie if a field should be numeric then...

Debugging improvements

When debugging RDMLX function I am almost always interested in the contents of #IO$STS. At the moment it is listed alphabetically with the other fields but since it is a 'special' value that is always present it would be convenient if it were permanently pinned in one location. This way I wouldn't a...

Reusable Part Definitions

When build a data model for a VL Web application I often find myself needing to create collections eg course list (CourseId, CourseName, Value). This requires creating a separate RP so I can create a <collection> of them. More often than not they have zero reuse potential but they end up cluttering ...

Re: Server Module Session Handling VLWEB Part 2

James Thanks for the response. Firstly, the ABORT command has MSG parameters for the precise purpose of providing information to the caller. In the iSeries world this would be written to the job log and would be available in the caller via the GET_MESSAGE BIF. I'm using the ABORT as you said is to s...

Server Module Session Handling VLWEB Part 2

I've got session handling Fail trapping working by supplying a value for #handled ie Evtroutine Handling(#LoadLangCentres.Failed) Reason(#REASON) Handled(#Handled) #Handled := True endroutine This is great for SESSIONINVALID but I'm trying to create a generic handler for SERVERERROR so in the above ...
