Re: To specify #PRIM_PPNL.Parent or not

Hi,

you parent a popup if you want to use layout management to determine its size and position on the screen.

If you just want to show a popup a fixed size on a fixed position (or screen center), it doesn't need it.

Re: VLWEB Property Question

Hi,

VL doesn't like you defining a property using a locally defined field.

I agree it probably should or at least the message could be better...

For now, you better use a repository defined field or a just a define com of a PRIM_BOLN.

Re: adding theme to reusable part embed in simple html page

Hi,

I haven't tried it, but I expect the following line to work, even in this scenario...

#SYS_WEB.WebPage.Theme <= #SYS_THEME<2015Blue>

Hi,

I think you need to use the ADD_ENTRY command for the field-mapping to work... I'm not sure it runs as part of the Add method.

Re: Display fixes itself when resizing browser

Hi,

is it all browsers? Is it all the time?

It sounds like something I would take up with LANSA Support unless you can narrow it down to a simple example you can share on the forum.

Re: VL-Win problem

Hi, Running in DirectX introduces the capability to handle mouse-over/enter/leave events. Rightly or wrongly, following the logic of all other events in Visual LANSA, these events update the current item and the corresponding field values as they fire. That's the behaviour you're seeing. I think you...

Re: Informative browser tabs with VLF-ONE?

Glad I could have been of help... #SYS_WEB.WebPage is just a reference to the Main Page that you can access from anywhere in your code. It is of class #PRIM_WEB, which has all its features documented in: http://docs.lansa.com/14/en/lansa016/prim_web.htm You can find a lot of help on LANSA classes an...

Re: Informative browser tabs with VLF-ONE?

Hi,

you can just change Icon and Caption in RDMLX.

Code: Select all

#SYS_WEB.WebPage.Icon <= #xImageEmail32
#SYS_WEB.WebPage.Caption := "Email Us"

Re: Dynamic Placeholder

Hi Domique, I think you found a bug in Visual LANSA. Changing the place-holder doesn't trigger the Edit Box to update. If you change another Edit Box related property, like AutoSelect, afterwards, the new place holder gets applied too. Evtroutine Handling(#Button1.Click) #STD_TEXT.Placeholder := "" ...

Re: DropDown reusable part Number of Rows displayed

Hi, because you're visible column is a fixed 280 pixels, you get a horizontal scroll bar which takes up space and in turn causes the vertical scroll bar. (You could consider that a bug and sent it LANSA support I guess.) But did you mean it to be 280 pixels? If I just make it a proportional column s...

Re: Troubleshooting Layouts

Hi Joe, one of the first questions I always ask myself... "Does it somehow fix itself up if I resize the browser?" In which case it's probably a bug within LANSA (maybe caused by the timing of the animations or something simular) If not, it's usually a bug in my code... I have no clear answer to how...

Hi Art,

it's going to be something like

Add_Entry To_List( #TILES )
(#TILES.CurrentItem.Design *AS #MYTILE).MyMethod( ... )

Hope that helps,

Re: Graph VL Web

Hi René, VL WEB doesn't have graphs & charts as built-in controls. But it DOES have the capability to easily encapsulate 3rd party widgets as a Visual LANSA component. It ships with some samples (the XGOOGLE... widgets) that expose SOME of the functionality of those particular Google widgets. What i...

Re: VLWEB REMOVE "X" ICON BESIDE A FIELD ON IE

Hi,

Of course LANSA people look at the forum 😊

type="tel" gave us the correct keyboard on mobile without interfering with the UI.

The 'X' is not related to type="tel". It is just something that IE/EDGE do on input elements.

Re: VLWeb List Horizontal Scrolling

Hi Joe, Remember a list can have multiple columns, even though you've only got one here. The horizontal scroll bar's job is to bring all columns into view, it has nothing to do with the content of each column, only width its width. Your one column here is columnunits(Proportion), so it's always the ...

Re: Numeric Only in Edit Box

Back in the days, when I was new to LANSA, I clearly remember thinking about edit-boxes and how to move data in and out of the database and into the program and then in and out of the edit boxes on the screens. I also remember being told to just use FIELDS and understand that LANSA was doing all the...

Re: VL for Web: downloading latest version of RP javascript when using *CREATE_FROM.

Hi, recompiling the Web Page should be enough to guarantee that ALL the generated JavaScript gets refreshed. If you look at the generated HTML, you'll see it contains something like ver:"080573707" and if you watch the network traffic you'll see that every request to get reusable parts/themes etc wi...

Re: VLWEB IDE Debugger showing incorrect reference value

I can only think your RDMLX doesn't match the compiled code. I don't think LANSA checks if the RDMLX has changed since the last compile.

Otherwise I can only say it's a LANSA bug and I would report it, hopefully it's reproducible in a simple scenario.
