Re: Icons on picture

Hi ,

I don't see why it wouldn't. You can position images wherever you want plus you've got drag drop events at your disposal.

How far did you get and what problem did you encounter ?

Re: What would be the proper way to return a two-dimensional list from a method?

My instinctive answer would be to wrap it up inside a Reusable Part and pass the reference around....

Re: Days Elapsed since Date

Hi John,

Have you tried the Date.Difference intrinsic?

http://docs.lansa.com/14/EN/LANSA016/PR ... erence.htm

You should be able to compare a date with Date.Now.

Re: List performance latest EPC

You can see this technique being used in the Visual LANSA IDE as well.

Type in the source editor, wait a split second, and Auto Complete pops up. The magic number for a good user experience seems to be 300 milliseconds.

Re: Recompile Web Components after EPC Install

Hi, NO, you don't HAVE TO recompile everything. As Mark said, if you recompile the Web Pages (and you've probably only got one for your whole app), you will start using the latest VL WEB Runtime (as it gets included from the generated HTML) and you're up to date. Previously compiled components shoul...

Re: Calling Server Routine from HTML/Javascript

Hi,

I think you can.

I'm pretty sure you can just pass in ServerModule/ServerRoutine where you would normally pass WAM/WebRoutine to the push button Weblet and have your ServerRoutine return a WebPage component as the next page.

Give it a try.

Danny

Re: How to receive a parameter of the array type from ActiveX?

Hi Yukiko, What I'd suggest is that you have a look at how LANSA created the event definition. (Right click the Event Name and select Features.) The "TransferredConnections" parameter will be of a particular type (#MYACTIVEX.SomeType) and this type must be some sort of Collection. I'm pretty confide...

Re: How to truly test that your VL Web page is connected

Hi, personally I just use #SYS_WEB.Online to indicate connectivity, and that's enough for me. The user is on a device that's somehow connected. After that there is still a (small) chance that ANY ServerRoutine call can fail somewhere during execution, you just got to make sure you handle the individ...

Re: Modify Reusable Part Properties at Design Time

Hi,

no sorry, there isn't.

Even if there was, it'd probably be restricted to the simple properties, the ones that don't require property routines, as I'm not sure it would be advisable or even possible to execute RDMLX at design time.

Re: VLWeb event timing

Hi, #SYS_WEB.Alert is basically just a JavaScript Alert. When the Alert is up, NO other JavaScript runs, not your compiled RDML, not the LANSA runtime code. You're basically stuck on that statement until the user cancels the dialog. I would use the LANSA message box instead, see: http://docs.lansa.c...

Re: new line '\n' replacement in #PRIM_TEXT or Field

Intrinsic functions never change their input, they just produce a result. Are you assigning the result back into the field? As in:

#OC18_EmailHTML := #OC18_EmailHTML.ReplaceAll( '\n' '<br>' )

Re: Substring on a Substring Runtime Error

Hi,

RDML, unlike most C based languages, starts counting at 1. It's the 0 for start position that is probably giving you INVALID VALUE.

Re: How can i convert LANSA Nvarchar type to .net String

It's a bug that .Net component strings are NOT in unicode.

I would report it to LANSA and try to get a fix, I don't think there's any workarounds. If you go native, you'll get question marks for non-native characters.

Hi,

There's an input attribute on field, I think it's *ND, not 100% sure, that will do the trick.

Re: FORM-Focus difference

Hi Shumpei, they're different because of focus processing. If you click the button, the BUTTON will become the focus control BEFORE it fires the click event. If you hit F10, the FIELD stays the focus control. A field losing focus clears the error state, and in case of the button click it will loose ...

Re: *INSTANCE_OF #PRIM_XXXX on Web page

Hi Megumi, I managed to have a look at your sample. There's a bit more to it. All these versions of INSTANCE_OF testing all do the right thing, the only problem is that EVP's (field visualizations) inadvertently inherit from PRIM_PANL in the Web Runtime. THAT is the defect that will need fixing. PRI...

Re: *INSTANCE_OF #PRIM_XXXX on Web page

Hi Megumi,

As a workaround, use the For commands Operation parameter instead.

http://docs.lansa.com/14/en/lansa015/in ... .htm#FOR_P

It can do INSTANCE_OF as well...
