Re: Submitting Jobs to Batch on Windows

How are you tracing your server modules? We aren't using VLF.

Modern way to drill down on Web?

I am designing an "inventory inquiry". The user will want to drill down to find their inventory. Something like they search for a customer and style, then results would be displayed like this: Style/Color/Size/Season/Model/Aux1/Aux2/Building/Location. Should that be a classic tree view or something ...

Re: Dynamically Creating Repository Objects

Lansa Lpc has given this capability to a few partners. It should be an open Api IMO.

Re: VL-WEB - using HTTPHEADER Variables

I think you use this PRIM_WEB.HttpHeaders. I couldn't find the example I had though.

PRIM_LIST.Number spin buttons

How can I hide the spin buttons? They don't make much sense for most of my numeric fields, like extension here that is mostly calculated but the user can zero out qty/rate and enter an extension.

Tree Item formatting changes at runtime

My RP sends the #PRIM_TREE to a server function to get entries added. In some cases, I want to change the style of a label at runtime. Where do I do that? The server module just gets the fields, so it doesn't know about the labels. The Tree Item exposes a property for the label I want to change. Is ...

Tracing and server functions

I've been trying to use Trace=true more. I don't think it's supported for server functions though. I've tried searching the docs with "server function trace" and other phrases but there aren't any relevant hits, most are for regular functions and integrator. Is debug our only option for server funct...

Re: Content height for embedded web page?

Thanks Stewart. We are trying to embed HTML similar to this... https://www.lakewoodcemetery.com/cal21.html. The old WAM used a height from a data base file to set the content.

I will report this to support.

Content height for embedded web page?

I'm having difficulty getting content height fit to width working for a #prim_web.page

Is it supported?

Thanks, Art

Re: List display not matching order added

We've never had to handle the sort direction arrow. Pretty sure that's automatic.

We use sort position so we can display the list how we want it, but we almost always allow sort on click for all columns. AFAIK, once the user clicks on a column to sort, all of the sort positions are set to 0.

Re: Row with label and word wrap

I think my problem is that my tree item needs to get taller based on the content. I set my tree item height taller and the obituary is showing OK.

Is there a way to do that automatically?

Row with label and word wrap

VL-WEB. I have a label in a row, I set the caption to some text. Typically there are 800 characters or more. I set the layout for the label to center, content height fit to width. I want the text to go wider on desktop screens. I also set the row to content. My row or label height isn't enough so my...

The catalog can be found on green screen using WRKRDBDIRE, look for an entry with *LOCAL as the remote location.

If Lansa could add a where clause when using the copy file data from iSeries that would solve your problem.

Re: SQL Server Express Limit

I've always tested against a development database on the same setup as production. Some guy Dingo showed me how to copy data using connect bifs before Lansa had the copy iseries data function but it just never was that easy to do.

Re: IBM i LANSA Disaster Recovery

We mirror the /LANSA_DCXPGMLIB in the IFS (we eliminate some of the logging directories, also the temporary directories where it creates code to compile, etc. Also the LANSA program and data libraries. Very simple. If the systems are on the same physical serial#, your license code may work on the ot...
