VL-IDE slow

Latest EPC's, V14SP2, High end PC's, SSD's, etc.

Two identical PC's, the IDE has been getting slower and slower. It can take 30-45 seconds to save a field. Is there any reorg or cleanup we can perform on the PC's?

Thanks, Art

Re: Saving BLOB while connected to IBM i in VLF-Forms

Dspffd shows 30 meg which is what I set the environment variable to.

I also reduced the size of my images. Something fixed it.

Re: Server module returns error but everything seems fine in the log file

Joblog on the IBM i? I see you have if_error(*return), but maybe something is happening in the Joblog.

Saving BLOB while connected to IBM i in VLF-Forms (RESOLVED)

I have a picture in c:\temp. My function is running connected to IBM i. I try to insert a record into my table with a blob field and I get fieldName length is 0. https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSEPEK_11.0.0/codes/src/tpc/n404.html It looks like it's happening for large image files (2...

Re: When will LANSA Mobile on Windows 10 get fixed?

it Is unless nothing’s happening. Since I posted this we’ve had a few interactions. I sent logs and a url so LPC could test our app directly on Our server Friday.

Hopefully I’ll hear soon.

Is it possible to control a USB camera in VL?

Re: computer name

You'd probably get a quicker response on a terminal server forum. I found this for VMWare, maybe there is something like this for TS

Re: When will LANSA Mobile on Windows 10 get fixed?

It will crash sometimes when capturing images. We click the camera button and invoke the camera widget. The screen will show white (instead of the image) and then crash. Other times It's when we click save in our app. It crashes when it starts to upload the images to the server routine. Event viewer...

When will LANSA Mobile on Windows 10 get fixed?

We have a production down problem. LANSA mobile just plain crashes. We've sent Event viewers, logs, everything we can. Jim Keating told me that it's been identified as a defect. Jim also told me that Lansa Mobile on iOS 13 is broken and that takes precedence for LPC. What if that takes 2 weeks to fi...

Re: Base64 string longest length

Yes that's the way I'm doing it now. We also use the camera widget. When I first went through the development on this I wrote another server routine for testing that used FromBase64String. LansaMobile is crashing for us on Windows 10 and we are trying to rewrite anything we can do to stop the crash ...

Base64 string longest length

I return an image from VL-WEB to a Server routine in a list with each entry being a 65535 chunks. The picture is 1-4 megapixels. I want to concatenate it all into one field so I can do something like this: #BinaryData.FromBase64String String(#image64) ErrorInfo(#errorInfo) Image64 is #prim_alph, can...

Re: RPG: Passing lists

Are you using entrys(*max)? I’d bet to pass to RPG you need to have a defined number of entries.

Re: RPG Calling LANSA and Receiving a List back

We did it by creating a table with the same fields as the list, plus a job#. In the RPG, we would write the to the file with the next available job#, then pass the job# back. Then the LANSA program would just do a select to the table with the job#. It worked quick and easy. Just delete the old recor...

Re: VLWEB Photo

I don't think filepicker lets you take a picture. You would have to have another way of capturing the picture first.

LANSA Mobile on Windows 10

We are getting crashes using a version of LANSA mobile supplied to us by LPC. We are using the camera widget to capture images. I am able to log a message to the console "Image number 4" Evtroutine Handling(#CameraControl.Completed) Base64data(#base64) #MySystemManager.LogtoConsole Text(('Camera_Com...
