Re: Keeping the position of scroll bar in a list

Not sure what you mean by a browse list, but if you are using a PRIM_LIST, you can use the VerticalScrollTo method. https://docs.lansa.com/14/en/lansa016/prim_list_verticalscrollto.htm Since you are deleting a row and refreshing the list, you may have to store an index or something so you can get th...

Re: Edit/Display text as HTML in VLF command Handler

Hi and Welcome!

There is a VLF-ONE demo that uses QuillJS embedded in a widget.

https://docs.lansa.com/14/en/lansa048/c ... 8_7000.htm

You can find the implementation in DF_Note_QuillInterface widget and the DF_Note_NoteDetailPanel RP.

Hope this helps.

Re: Bearer Token in CLOB

I initially started this using a work field defined in the repository. I created a new field as a string type and had to supply a length, but really had no idea what to put there. That immediately made me concerned about blowing the length of the field, so I started looking at CLOBs. I was wanting s...

Bearer Token in CLOB

I'm integrating with an API that does bearer authentication. I need to store the bearer token so that I can use it in subsequent requests. Because the token can be pretty large, I have created a CLOB based field to handle it (wk_WorkforceAuthToken). if ((#Request.Response.IsSuccessfulRequest) *AndIf...

Get All Data Areas in Library

Is there a way to get all the data areas in a library? Something like select * from ????? where DTALIB = 'MYLIB' I am wanting to add a simple "configuration" editor in our VLF-ONE Admin application. We have a library with some data areas that we keeps some config settings and I want to be able to ch...

Re: Publishing Web Services

Finally got this hooked up and working. First off, if you are using an IBM i, you MUST setup a Windows / Linux web server to act as a front end. I followed these instructions and it went well. https://docs.lansa.com/14/en/lansa085/index.htm#lansa/lwbengh5_0020ws.htm Secondly, after talking with supp...

Re: PRIM_MD.Dropdown Changed

Could be.

I have 142030 installed and the Changed event kept firing.

Will do some further digging.

Thanks,

Re: Menu MD

I think there is nothing wrong with using the old controls.
I use the Tab Folder Navigator Style because there is not a MD version.

You could always try to create one, but IMHO, I would just use the old ones.

Re: PRIM_MD.Dropdown Changed

Just got bit by this again. I created a support ticket for this back on 10/18 and it was replicated and it was "Accepted as Correction" A workaround is to check if the dropdown has focus in the changed event. Evtroutine Handling(#TestField.Changed) If (#TestField.Focus) #STD_STRNG := "Test Field Cha...

Re: EPC142030 Missing IDE Features

I get that this is not product support, but I personally don't like to get support involved until there is a KNOWN issue. I would rather them handle high priority, production down issues, then dealing with things like this. The other problem, is that this is the ONLY place to talk to other Visual LA...

Re: Publishing Web Services

Hi Pierre, I am still having problems with running locally, now I am getting random x_run errors with not much (any) logging. Oddly enough, yesterday I talked with some folks at LANSA Chicago and they mentioned that you cannot run this on the IBM i. The reason being is that the web server is CGI bas...

Same here, normally part of QPGMR.

I was really concerned about the security issues, did not want to go back down that road.

Thanks Art!

iSeries QSECOFR and PSO

When using a Slave install to the iSeries, does being a QSECOFR automatically make you the Partition Security Officer (PSO)? Working with support on an issue and changed my iSeries group to be QSECOFR. Just did a System Init in Visual LANSA to get some task updates and all of a sudden I am getting t...

Re: VL WEB Designs of different layouts in IDE

What I find the be the easiest is to start with a known layout, such as desktop. The root component or panel will have a layoutmanger associated with it, typically named something like LayoutManager1. I recommend changing this to something more meaningfull, such as "DesktopLayout". Once you have you...

EPC142030 Missing IDE Features

We just installed EPC142030 and noticed a couple things went missing out of the IDE. In the top right corner of the IDE there was a button/menu that allowed you to get to the error logs. In the Design menu on the Home tab, the "Hide Controls based on Visibility" is not the "Toggle based on Enabled/D...

Re: Creating report in lansa 14.2

I think we are probably going to need some more information as to your environment. Are you using VLWEB or VLWIN or the 5250 screens? I use the PDFDocumentService https://docs.lansa.com/14/en/lansa093/index.htm#lansa/intengb7_0170.htm with Integrator to handle pretty much all of our reporting. We ty...

Re: Dynamic use of PRIM_VIEW

I think its fine to create components dynamically. We don't use Views in the app as it was built pre SP2. We dynamically create the views (Panels) and store them in a PRIM_KCOL for reference later. I would argue that you don't do any data loading in CreateInstance. You can do data initialization, li...

The only way I know to do any kind of async work is with timers and then use an event to signal the work is completed. For example function options(*DIRECT) begin_com role(*EXTENDS #PRIM_OBJT) define_evt name(WorkCompleted) define_com class(#PRIM_TIMR) name(#Timer) Startup(Manual) Interval(100) mthr...

When I look at the import log it says the RP imported successfully. C EIM0268 Definition of component MGSAPPC02 successfully imported. However when I look in the IFS at /LANSA_dcxpgmlib/x_lansa/x_SYS/web/vl for that component in not there. Its also not /IASP1/LANSA_dcxpgmlib/x_lansa/x_SYS/web/vl whe...
