Re: VLF-ONE Keep Window Size across Sessions

Hey Mark, BTW – VLF-ONE applications by default remember and restore panel sizes. It’s just that it does not save the panel size when the state is MAXIMUM or MINIUM. So when its maximized it does not save the state, but if I drag the window to a specific size it does. That should resolve my user's i...

VLF-ONE Keep Window Size across Sessions

I have a request from a user that they would like to keep the window size across sessions. He goes to a window and initially it takes up half the workspace, so he maximizes it. Then when he logs out, logs back in and comes back to the window, it has reverted to the original half size. He is asking m...

Re: I’d like to get some feedback / discussion going on these 2 questions …………….

Don't have any input or interaction with Systems, so could be wrong here, but ... I don't think its a mandate; however, pretty much everyone uses Internet Explorer. I think that is what the system folks install and our intranet has LOTS of links to server files that will only open in IE. I think all...

VLF-ONE SP2 Filter / Instance List Border Color

Is there anyway to change the border color between a filter and an instance list in VLF-ONE SP2? capture1.PNG On a lot of our monitors, that border is getting washed out to the point that it becomes invisible to the user, which makes it appear that it cannot be resize, which it can. Is there are a w...

Re: VL IDE - Check Out Readonly Tables and Fields

Hey Art and Bark, I've only done exports to a save file to handle deployment scenarios. Any advice on how to actually do a mass export from the iSeries? Do you create an export list, add everything to it then export it? Thanks, Joe EDIT Could I create an export from the MY ide and use that? Will tha...

VL IDE - Check Out Readonly Tables and Fields

We have new LANSA dev that we are getting everything hooked up with. We refreshed his repository with the master and have all the Tables and Fields but they are all "greyed" out, indicating they are on the server but not on his machine. When doing a checkout readonly on the Table, it only checks out...

Re: Record to be updated has been changed error

The file is an IBMi other file in Sql Server. I read the docs regarding the cross update but I don't see how that could be happening. I have gone so far as to fetch the record first, then do the update in the next line and I still get the error. All if our tables are "other" tables imported from the...

Re: Record to be updated has been changed error

We are running locally so its on Windows with SQL Server, the Table was imported from the IBM i. We can read and insert into the table, so the OAM can find it, we just cannot update or delete from it. Interestingly, I don't have this issue with tables that I have imported and compiled before SP2. Wh...

Re: Using Temp Tables

Hi Kevin, I ended up doing something like you suggested with a working list. I was concerned about the paging aspect, so used to doing it in the database, but it turned out easier then expected. Seems to be working pretty well. I am not familiar with the SPACE BIF, will look into that in case someth...

Using Temp Tables

I've an issue where I have to collect a large amount of data from different tables and be able to page and sort through it. Unfortunately joining all the data will not work due to how the data is organized. The only way I can think of handling this through the use of a temp or secondary table. My th...

Re: How to use Google Analytics in web page?

The issue is that you cannot embed html or script directly into a LANSA web page. You need to use a component that will allow to do that. The components that immediately come to mind are the HtmlContainer or Widget. Don't think a Web Page (embedded external web page) will work like you want, but it ...

Re: Should we use Material Design Style controls when developing VL Web application after V14 SP2?

I think there is a setting in the options that enable the MD controls by default. I think you need to uncheck that option. Not at my workstation so cannot confirm.

Shared Repository Lists

I have a dynamic list stored in the repository like this. Capture.PNG Since it is stored in the repository, I had thought that another LANSA Developer can retrieve and use that list. However, when we do a refresh of master objects, there is no option to select "Organizers" or "Lists" and the List do...

VLF-ONE SP2 Inactivity Timeout

We are getting some complaints that after the upgrade to SP2 users are getting timeout errors like this one. timeout.png Before the upgrade they said they could stay in the app for hours at a time. The docs https://docs.lansa.com/14/en//////lansa048/content/lansa/vlf2215.htm pointed to a couple plac...

I admit it, I punted.

Could not take it anymore, so I just manually added the App, Commands and Objects in the target framework.
