Case Insensitive SELECT on IBM i

How do I make a case insensitive select on the IBM i?

I have the following query:

Code: Select all

select fields(#XF1102List) from_file(XF110201) with_key(#OFOTY #OFOFIN) nbr_keys(*COMPUTE) generic(*YES)
I need to make the OFOFIN filter case insensitive as the data contains mixed case.

Re: Features Window Enhancement

I never saw that other column in the features window. Good to know. Regarding the server modules, I see now the parameter maps in the Execute and ExecuteAsyncm that helps a lot. I think I was confused because I was expecting to see the name of the srvroutine not the Execute/Async methods. Is there a...

Re: Source Recovery

I greatly prefer using a VCS over a Slave. At my last job we used a VCS with a lot of success, though we did have one small issue with deleting objects. When I checked in an object and my co-worker pulled down the change and gets the latest version from the working folder, that object lives in both o...

Features Window Enhancement

I've come to rely on using the F2 help (Features window) to explore an object I am using without resorting to opening the object. I find that it is easier to use the Feature window to explore an object than exploring with the prompter. I think a couple things would make the Features window much more...

Re: Rebuild Table on Check In Files on IBM i

That is what I had assumed, but the last thing I wanted to do was to wipe out a File on the IBM i.

Thanks,
Joe

Rebuild Table on Check In Files on IBM i

If I create a file via "Load Other File". When I check in that File what do the options "Rebuild table" and "Rebuild indexes and views" do? The documentation states to force the generation and compilation of the table, indexes and OAM. I understand the OAM is going to be recreated but is it going to...

Re: AWS Development Environment

Apologies for the late reply, just started a new job. I am in the N. Virginia region. The AMI ID is LANSA IDE 14.1 2016-08-10T16-22-31-c3cfe2ce-dc93-44e3-9cc9-a65cdb734940-ami-7c8d136b.3 (ami-9753ca80) Will try to start one up in the Sydney region. @LANSAGuru I was able to get onto it when it was la...

AWS Development Environment

Has anybody been able to get the LANSA Development Environment on AWS to work after the 14.1 GA update? Once the instance starts up, it is not allowing me to get the Windows password. I've let it sit for 15 minutes, AWS suggests waiting 4 minutes after launching to get the password, and still no luc...

Re: JSON external data transfer

Hi Jiri, We just hooked up with a 3rd party http api posting and receiving data, not JSON though. If you are "getting" the data from the client browser take a look at the #PRIM_WEB.HttpRequest. You can see an example of it in the xDemoWebWeatherItem in the samples. http://docs.lansa.com/14/EN/LANSA0...

Re: VL Web - Remove Focus from List

I did not realize that.

When I went looking for the "Theme" I went to the UF_OEXEC page and did not see one so I incorrectly assumed it did not have one. My mistake.

Re: VL Web - Remove Focus from List

I am in VLF-ONE, so there so I don't think there is a theme, at least one is not applied on the UF_OEXEC page. What I ended up doing for anyone else that runs into this is define a style. define_com class(#PRIM_VS.Style) name(#Style1) backgroundbrush(#Brush1) define_com class(#PRIM_VS.SolidBrush) na...

VL Web - Remove Focus from List

I have a list of entries, in this case phone numbers. When I delete an entry from the list using dlt_entry, focus is shifted to the first item in the list. This behavior is mentioned in the List-FocusItem documentation http://docs.lansa.com/14/EN/LANSA016/PRIM_LIST_FocusItem.htm . How then, do I rem...

VL Web - Prevent Field changing when "hovering" List Items

I have a panel that on the left side is List control. That control has columns for PhoneDescription and PhoneNumber. On the right side of the panel are the fields PhoneDescription and PhoneNumber along with a save button. What is happening is that if I have multiple entries in the list, mousing over...

Re: Understanding Commitment Control and Best Practices

Thanks for the help. That clarifies things quite a bit. We are using VLF-ONE so anything that would be coordinating the transactions would be done at the server module. I don't know if we need to use the same BIFs that you do in your functions and forms but it gives me a clue as to where to look nex...

Re: Understanding Commitment Control and Best Practices

Hi Mike, Can you elaborate on how you handle errors? For example, in most other languages that support a try/catch/finally block I could do the something like the following pseudo code. transaction = new transaction try insert insert insert transaction.commit catch transaction.rollback finally trans...

Re: V14 documentation

If you are looking to add JQuery, Bootstrap or any other external script or css you need to add them as external resources in LANSA. What I had done was to copy the resource files into the partition web folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\LANSA\X_WIN95\X_LANSA\x_sys\web\vl) and have folders for handlebar...

Re: VLF-ONE Commands not showing in Instance Window

uncheck the Show on Instance List Tool Bar option on the Commands Allowed tab for a command handler, then it disappears from above the instance list and as a tab in the command handler window This is exactly what is happening. I thought it may be in a bug in the VLF but since it seems to work in th...
