Supressing the vertical scoll on the #prim_tree component

Post by davidbalansa » Wed May 31, 2017 11:03 am

In a VL Web application to run on a mobile device, I am using a #prim_tree component to display a list of entries. The header is fixed to the top of the screen and the footer is fixed to the bottom of the screen. The tree component takes up the available space. If there are more entries than available space, a vertical scroll bar appears. The customer doesn't want to show the scroll bar for aesthetic reasons. The user will have to swipe to determine if there are more entries.

Can the display of the vertical scroll bar be suppressed?

Thanks in advance,
David

Hi David

The short answer is no.

I haven't looked at an Android phone, but on iPhone the scrollbar disappears from view shortly after the control stop scrolling anyway.

Hi Stewart,

Thank you for the response. My bad, I was testing on my PC via a browser where the scrollbar is always present. I should have tested on an actual mobile device.

I just tested on Android phone and the scroll bar only appears for the duration of the scroll then disappears same as the iPhone. This should be acceptable as you get the best of both worlds, you know how far through the list you are and get a scroll bar free view when scrolling stops. The scroll bar is also extremely thin.

Thank you again.
David
