Windows 10 Upgrade 1809 - Compile and Build

Hi,
yesterday I had to install Windows 10 Upgrade (1809) and after that Compiling and Buliding does not work anymore - both in V14SP1 and V14SP2 (they are both installed on my laptop - independant from each other and working with different iSeries's). Checking in only works for objects like fields or multilingual variables which do not need any building processes on the laptop...).

This is a big problem because development process is impossible at the moment....
Did anyone of you encounter the same problems?

Cheers,
Joerg

Try deleting this file
<install folder>/LANSA/x_env2013VL.txt

Then run this
<install folder>/LANSA/x_GetEnv.Bat

See if that fixes anything. Windows upgrade sometimes cause the problem with the registry where you get the data initialization error and you can't even open the IDE...but in this case you are getting into LANSA but can't compile which is a different.

What are the build and compile errors? There should be some indication in the build and compile logs as to WHY it is failing.

If that doesn't work may have to log a support issue with Technical Support.

Hi Guru,

thank you for your hint.
I must confess that I had to solve a customer issue urgently and thus I switched Windows back to Version 1803.
But upgrading Windows is inevitable and I suppose that I'm going to use your information then.

Cheers,
Joerg

We've got a few Win 10 PCs here with Update 1809 and building and compiling is fine.
Assuming you will have to do this again at some point, it might be worth sending the build/compile logs to the LANSA support guys now so they can see if anything jumps out before you go around again.
