Using VLF-ONE centralized event handler

Post by MarkD » Wed Mar 21, 2018 11:00 am

A potentially useful feature that VLF-ONE has (that VLF-WIN does not have) is that you can put a centralized event handler into your system IIP. For example:

Capture.PNG (30.05 KiB) Viewed 11195 times
This example means that VLF-ONE filters, command handlers, and most significantly RAMP scripts, could cause a specific product, a specific order or a system exit operation just by using the avSignalEvent method or equivalent RAMP JavaScript function. Additionally, key information can be passed along with the request.

This means, for example, that you can add new non-5250 push buttons to RAMPed screens like “Logoff” or “Show Customer” or “Show Orders” that can directly cause a switch operation without needing an active intermediary filter or command handler to process the request to for them.
