Expand VL Images to use Web Font Icons

Post by Tim McEntee » Tue Jan 31, 2017 9:26 am

Not sure how you would implement this, but it would be a big plus to use Font Icons wherever it is possible to use an image. ie. in lists, buttons etc.

The Font Icon source should be up to the user, there is a Google example on the forum, and we are using Font Awesome. I'm sure that some people will have a subset of there own icon designs.

Hi Tim

The problem with the likes of Font Awesome and Material Design et al, is that they're really just bits of text with a load of CSS applied, so they're not images. This means that they simply don't fit in the spaces that VL images go. They don't fit in the places that browser images go either.

Best practice here is to make a widget and reusable part that suits your requirements.
