Hi All
I have created my first VL Web application - all ok, however I am now looking at deploying to live, and this is a model B setup. I have reviewed the LANSA documentation, web site tips and forums and can't find any reference on how to deploy VL web (Not VL_ONE) as Model B. Any pointers to documentation that I haven't found or any tips on what I should be doing would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
John Smith
VL WEB Model B (Multi-Tier)
Re: VL WEB Model B (Multi-Tier)
If you have deployed a webevent or WAM application in the past there is no difference in how you deploy.
If you don't actually have a functional mult-tier setup functioning, you should contact your local LANSA support desk for help or refer to the documentation for multi-tier setup in the installing LANSA on ____ guides in the online documentation at docs.lansa.com
There are many ways to configure this and there is no 1 way fits all setup for this.
In a nutshell you export from development and then import on production assuming a backend IBMi and front end windows server which is the most common configuration option. The front end IIS Pluging webserver is a thing layer which functions as a proprietary proxy server (more or less).

Re: VL WEB Model B (Multi-Tier)
Only supported on Windows.
16 Nov 2015 Visual LANSA Web V14 Category: Web Multi tier
Model B support for an IBM i application server is only available for Visual LANSA Web with a Windows Web Server (IIS). The Apache server cannot be used in V14 as the Model B web server for Visual LANSA Web.
Note: Single tier to IBM i is available for Visual LANSA Web and Model B using Apache server is still available for WAMs and Web Functions.
