A question about doing development on laptops

Post by MarkD »

Hi

I was wondering if any of you work all day building applications using only a laptop?

ie: A laptop that is not plugged into bigger screen(s), a real mouse, etc.

If you do - what sort of resolution do you run the laptop screen at?

Thanks.

I don't usually do this, but when I am working from home I connect to my PC at work. So I might do this once or twice every month. I run at 1920x1200 on the laptop. I prefer the bigger resolution I have a work and I really appreciate having two monitors.
I don't know what I am doing, nor how I did it. If it works, luck was involved :geek:

Yes, I develop on my laptop almost exclusively. Resolution is 1600 x 900.

Working with laptop only for about 15 years. Currently have 15 inch FullHD Lenovo. In office I am using secondary monitor (also FHD) and attached mouse, out of office using only the NTB, without any accessories. I never have used external keyboard.
Using only touchpad in VL development is sometime tricky, but I can live with it.

Yes, always a laptop, 1920 x 1080. If I am at home, I'll plug in and use my external monitors, keyboard and mouse. Then I keep LANSA open on one screen, and all of the other stuff on the other. But still 1920 x 1080.
