VLF.NET Disabled Dropdowns

If I set the disabled property of my std_dropdown weblet to disabled in VLF.NET then it is hard to read the text on the button. Has anyone come up with a custom weblet that helps allow the user to see the text more clearly than what you see when running in VLF.NET.
