Getting this Error - LII057E CM_PRODUCT_SPECIFIC_ERROR

Post by IQHGWC »

Hi All,

I am getting this error:
Capture_06.PNG
Capture_06.PNG (6.46 KiB) Viewed 35490 times
CM_PRODUCT_SPECIFIC_ERROR

I get this upon starting the Host Monitor Connection or when I do a check-out of objects/components from the LANSA Editor.
Sometimes restarting the VL IDE or my computer multiple times fixes the issue. But it's very time consuming.

I'm not sure the root cause or if it's just intermittent issue.

Has anyone able to fix this?

Hi IQHGWC,

1.
Is, on the IBMi, your subsystem running that contains the LANSA listener?

2.
Has your IBMi user profile password been changed. If so, then you need to get your changed IBMi password in Windows as well, via:
a) LANSA PCMAINT on IBMi
b) Refresh option of the users in Visual LANSA Windows.

Kind regards,
René

The reply from Rene would be applicable if this was a consistent issue. That is, you cannot use the HM every time you try. And there are other things you can check, like the TP joblogs on the IBM for any relevant messages.

However, if its OK sometimes and then fails randomly, it could be a network/VPN dropout.
Are you working remotely?
I cannot see how stop/restarting the PC or VL would fix this up, which further suggests to me that its a networking issue. You could try to discern a pattern (time of day, large checkin or checkout etc.)
You could also start the HM only when you want to checkin/checkout and then stop it again once done. This preventative method is probably less tedious than your current recovery method. Now that I think of it, the other upside of this tactic is that if you try to start the stopped HM and it fails, you know that something is going on with your connection at that point and you could check the network connection etc.

If your host monitor isn't shut down properly, this will occur. Go to subsystem LANLISTEN and end all TP jobs with your user name. It may also require you end and restart the LANLISTEN subsystem.
Thanks,

Don
