VL WEB APP Debug Issue after EPC150070 update

Afternoon

Running W11 LANSA 15 EPC 150070.
Anyone else having issues debugging WEB Apps. After EPC update we keep getting fatal errors when trying to debug our web app also happens when we try and debug a sample app generated from the home page in the IDE.

Error from the sample app, we get the same from our developed app. (ps when executing them they run fine) Running local 8080

With that message next step is to check for the log in the lweb_job (wrkoutq qezjoblog then go to the end of you just created the error), and check the x_err.log

I have Windows 11 Pro with a V15 EPC150070 EPC IDE.

I tested the interactive debugging (local webserver) using the shipped VL Web Page XVLWEBTST and associated Server Module XVLSMTST. It's as simple a test that I could locate. (Compile them for debug before using them). The debugger doesn't work for me. I performed many attempts and random results. I tried combinations of restarting the debugger process/ listener service / restarting the web server, without seeing a pattern. I don't get the error you specify. For me it's either debugging doesn't start or when it does and I attempt to step (F8) it hangs.

I have a V15 EPC150050 EPC IDE instance and the interactive debugger works every time with the default settings (yes the debug ports are different between the two installs, I only have one listener running at a time.)

I do get an error in the x_err.log file for the EPC150070 instance. An access violation in X_DLL.

Do you get the same error when you run debug with the simple example above?

(LANSA thinks I am running Windows 10 Pro for some reason)

Hi David,

We get that access violation error when we try to debug the Framework or a form. It is intermittent it will fail once or twice and then it will work
Not sure if it is this error that fails the WEB debug as well.
I set trace and logging on the listener and got these errors

I get the same error in the lroute.log

Which is referring to the Visual LANSA Debug TP Stub program.

At this point I would send it over to LANSA support to see if they have a hotfix available.

Hello,

My team has been having a debug issue after EPC150070 as well. Unfortunately, we didn't keep any IDEs at EPC150050 so we've had to resort to using message boxes to convey useful debugging info. We reported it OCT 9, 2024. The case indicates that it has been accepted as an issue, but I haven't heard from support since Jan 31st.

The issue went to LPC, we did get a hotfix but it did not fix anything. We still get intermittent access violation errors and are still unable to debug any web/mobile apps . The issue has gone back to LPC.

Have you had any luck? On March 20 I was provided a hotfix EPC150070HF_250221 and a different version of x_dbgrem.dll to try and I still cannot debug. It's been two months, and I have yet to hear back.

Issue still ongoing, there was a hotfix plus a replacement of a DLL that was sent to us. This did help with Framework/VL debugging. However the debugging of the WEB App's are still a issue. The debug gets to the first breakpoint, however when stepping down to the server modules and back causes errors. LPC still looking at this.

This issue has now been fixed after 8 months for V15. the following EPC's are available via support.
