Not really a question - PWAs

I've been talking up PWAs as the future of VLWEB for a while now and I noticed today that there has been a lot of activity in this area.

Although Google/Chrome are the prime drivers in this area Microsoft have had a recent burst of activity.

The web version of Outlook now has an install button on the page (for some users) that creates a locally installed PWA version.

The new version of Edge (which is more-or-less now Chrome) supports feature that let PWAs behave even more like 'normal' installed apps.

As well as the above MS development tool folks are talking up the web and PWAs as a way of delivering applications across its new range of hardware, including dual screen devices, more of which are not running on the Wintel platform so it makes a lot of sense.

I feel that VLWEB is very close to doing all this. They would be at the very forfront if they could get this out soon.

I normally don't comment on work in progress as it's not of any use to anyone unless it's GA....but I just want to make one exception and mention that I happen to know that PWA's are definitely on the roadmap.

Just remember that the definition of PWA is quite a broad one.

This is what Google says...

Progressive Web Apps are user experiences that have the reach of the web, and are:

Reliable - Load instantly and never show the downasaur, even in uncertain network conditions.

Fast - Respond quickly to user interactions with silky smooth animations and no janky scrolling.

Engaging - Feel like a natural app on the device, with an immersive user experience.

Which means there's a whole range of improvements to VL Web in the pipeline to ensure a VL Web App is well and truly a modern Progressive Web App....
